New Life in Haiti for Florida Church's Pews
COCONUT CREEK, Fla. (Sept. 28, 2009) – The excitement of a sanctuary renovation at Advent Lutheran Church in Boca Raton was accompanied by the puzzling question of what to do with old pews that did not fit into the new plans. The dilemma was quickly resolved, however, when the church partnered with Food For The Poor, the largest international relief and development agency in the United States.

Congregation Moved to Move Church
(Craig, Colorado) On a hot August Sunday in 1959, members of the First Congregational United Church of Christ began their worship like any other day.
They sang the first verse of the hymn, “Onward Christian Soldiers.”
But what happened next was a giant leap into the future for the more than 100-year-old church.
The church members stripped the building of all of its furnishings, including the pews and the organ, and moved them into a newly built, empty building at 630 Green St.
After the group had set everything in its proper place, they finished the last verses of the hymn in the space where the First Congregational Church still resides today. (click HERE to read entire story)
Big Effort on Tiny Church
(Glenorchy, Queensland, Australia) More than a dozen Glenorchy volunteers rolled up their sleeves, donned dust masks and grabbed brooms yesterday for the first phase of the restoration of the historic Head of the Lake Community Church.
All furnishings and fittings inside the 120-year-old, pioneer-era church were taken away and securely stored.
Volunteers cleaned up a huge amount of dust and a rats' nest when the 40 to 50-year-old Pinex floor and ceiling were removed. (click HERE to read the entire story)
